U14 Girl\'s 98 Win 2012 Palm Bay Phoenix Cup Championship

The weekend of November 17/18, the Girls '98 Blue team won the championship at The Palm Bay Phoenix Cup! After losing to their northern arch rival, South Brevard Lady Phoenix, in the opening round game by a score of 3-9, the girls shut out the rest of their opponents to earn a second chance in the finals.

Before the final match the team regrouped and made significant adjustments to their game to compensate for South Brevard's strong points. The final score was 4-2 in an amazing come back to win the championship. Gianna Merigliano scored a hat trick with her 3 goals. Amy Hoagland scored 1 goal. Ashton Royal had 2 assists and Gianna Arcuri had 1 assist. Mackenzie McMichael had 4 saves in goal.

Madison Moore and Jenna Villas teamed up to completely shut down the Lady Phoenix's top scoring threat (who scored 5 goals in the opening match). Nicole Anclade fought a brutal battle with the Lady Phoenix's 6 foot, 200 pound forward and shut her down also.

For the entire tournament, the girls scored 15 goals and keepers, Morgan Stephan and Mackenzie McMichael, combined for 13 saves in goal. This championship win vaulted the girls into 14 place in the state rankings. Their next tournament is the Orange Classic in December.

Great job girls!

Jupiter United in the Bahamas

Local Freeport coaches attended and several Nassau coaches flew in to attend this first ever official NSCAA course hosted by the Predator Soccer Club, run by the amazing coaches Donnie and Mary Woodside.

During his Bahama stay, coach Didden also conducted a clinic for the Grand Bahamas Predators elite girls training group, part of coaches Donnie and Mary Woodside development program.

Jupiter United is currently working with Coach Mary on establishing an exchange program for Bahamian and Jupiter United players so stay tuned for updates!
